Why Locals Love Demashk
Located in the heart of Buenos Aires at Charcas 3816, Demashk is a delightful gem for lovers of Middle Eastern cuisine, specializing in authentic shawarma that captivates both locals and visitors alike. Despite its modest size, this cozy spot offers an intimate dining atmosphere where the aromas of freshly grilled meats and fragrant spices envelop you the moment you step inside, creating an inviting and warm experience.
The real star at Demashk is unquestionably their shawarma — marinated perfectly and cooked to juicy tenderness, it bursts with flavor in every bite. Customers rave about its quality, with Daniel Espinoza praising the "really good" shawarma alongside perfectly creamy hummus and soft, warm bread that complements the dishes beautifully. Jason Kay goes as far as calling it "simply the best shawarma you will find in town," emphasizing its worthiness as a destination meal.
What sets Demashk apart is the delicate balance between traditional preparation and fresh, high-quality ingredients. Brandon Nelson notes that while the portion might be on the smaller side, the flavor is intensely satisfying and thoughtfully crafted. The menu focuses on delivering authentic Middle Eastern favorites in a no-frills setting, encouraging both casual meals with friends or a quick, satisfying bite on your own.
Though the space is cozy, as Marcelo Massimi remarks, it’s perfect for intimate gatherings or a casual meal with friends, where the emphasis remains squarely on the excellence of the cuisine. One minor caveat is the payment process, as Andrés Osinski mentions the preference for cash payment might be inconvenient for some, but it’s a small trade-off for the quality and consistency you receive.
Whether you find yourself drawn by the glowing local reviews or simply craving the rich, smoky layers of expertly cooked shawarma, Demashk promises a genuinely flavorful experience that transports you straight to the vibrant street food scene of the Middle East — right in Buenos Aires.

Pretty good place. The shawarma was really good, and so was the hummud and the bread. I've heard it gets really busy, but i went while it was raining so it was pretty empty which was good.

Simply the best schwarma you will find in town. I have yet to find one that I like as much as the ones from Demashk. It is worth a special trip just to find this place and get a schwarma.

The shawarma was a little small, though packed with delicious flavor and made of high quality ingredients.

One fo the best shawarmas in the city. If you didn't have to badger them to take cards it would be 5 stars.

One of the two best Arabic restaurants in the city. The other, ironically, is named after the other great Syrian city haha. This one has the best chicken shawarma in Argentina. Order it and you won't be disappointed! You can also buy some handy Arabic groceries here as well, which is appreciated. Keep up the great work!

5 star from me. No doubts about the taste, sauce (I’d say close to tahini) which almost no one adding to their’s shawarma is the best thing you can add to make shawarma perfect. Bravo to guys, good meat and lavash as well!
